ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Jane and I love books! That might seem a little obvious, seeing as this blog is all about books and authors, but I thought I should say it straight away, just in case you're here to learn more about bird-tables (🐦tweet, tweet)!
My passion for reading started when I was a kid. I loved going to the library and always returned with arms full of exciting adventures. At that age I read everything, from Enid Blyton's Famous Five to Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. I loved being swept away to exciting lands, or joining new friends on their quests. Soon I had bulging bookcases - you can guess where all my pocket money went!
That love of books has followed me throughout my life and although I've embraced technology and do read ebooks, I still prefer having a 'real' book in my hands (although if I'm packing luggage, my kindle wins hands-down every time!).
I've taught creative writing, and belonged to writers' groups and book clubs, so I enjoy talking books with others. I've accidentally 'found' so many authors over the years and I can't help myself from telling anyone who will listen all about my latest finds. I suspect some of them roll their eyes at my enthusiasm but I can't help myself - there are so many brilliant books and writers out there!
Luckily this blog is bringing together like-minded people and I was delighted to be awarded the Book Reviewer of the Year in October 2022, when the blog was only 7 months old - read my post all about it here
The #writing community on twitter has opened my eyes to new writers too. There are so many talented people, but how do these wonderful authors get their message out? I find myself wanting to help and I'm hoping to find other people like me, who want to learn about new titles whilst meeting the brilliant authors who penned them.
So that's what this blog is about. I'm here to help promote authors and I'll also be reviewing some books too (who needs sleep 🤣). I'll be working with the authors to produces tweetable phrases that promote their books and themselves. I'm hoping you'll help me spread the word, whether it's by reading the books or spreading the message about great authors on social media.
I'll be including writers of all genres (fiction and non-fiction), although not poetry initially. They are all fabulous authors that deserve a wider audience, so I hope you'll join me in promoting them.
